Lee Carter was the decisive winner of the 2014 Sir David Prosser Trophy, an award that recognises Epsom’s most successful trainer at selected London racecourses in the 2013/2014 season.

Carter trained eight winners at Jockey Club Racecourses’ tracks Epsom Downs, Sandown and Kempton between September 30 2013 and September 25 2014 to secure the trophy and a £1,000 donation to a charity of his choice.

“I am absolutely delighted to be the winning trainer of the Sir David Prosser Trophy,” said Carter who is based at the Old Yard, Clear House Stables in Epsom.

“The team has worked extremely hard over the last year and we have tried to run as many horses as possible at London racecourses with the championship as a target.

“Having the option of running horses at these high quality tracks so close to the yard is fantastic, especially with the majority of owners being local to Surrey.

“Along with winning the trophy and the very well-deserved staff Christmas party at the racecourse, I would like to confirm the £1000 donation from Sir David Prosser to a charity of our choice will be going to the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.  After looking after a number of very close family and friends so wonderfully, we feel they are more than deserving of this donation.”
