Royal Windsor racecourse is offering advance online bookers free entry to the grandstand for the first evening meeting of their new flat racing season next Monday, April 20.
The Berkshire racecourse, which is one of only two figure-of-eight racetracks in the UK along with Fontwell Park, yesterday (Monday) hosted the first of their 27 race meetings scheduled for this season.
The track hosted an eight-race-card on a sunny day that coincided with the opening of the Duke Street Bar, in partnership with the local Windsor & Eton Brewery.
“It’s great to have this prestigious local brewery on board with the racecourse and we are really excited about the opening of our brand new Duke Street Bar on our first raceday of the season,” Royal Windsor’s catering manager, Gavin Jones, said on the track’s website ahead of the opening of the new bar.
Their first meeting of the 2015 season follows news of the sponsorship agreement by the racecourse’s owner – Arena Racing Company (ARC) – that includes15 races at five of Windsor’s Monday evening fixtures in May and June.
Windsor’s executive director, Stuart Dorn, who opened the Duke Street Bar on Monday, had earlier expressed his delight at news of the sponsorship deal in partnership with online betting exchange BETDAQ for some of their spring and summer meetings.
“We are thrilled at Royal Windsor to continue working with BETDAQ and believe our summer Monday evenings are a perfect platform to be a key part of [their] horseracing sponsorship,” Dorn said.
