Aidan O’Brien revealed he has not made a final decision on the rider of St Leger joint-favourite Order Of St George and his two other runners in the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday.

O’Brien is set to saddle three of the eight starters in the Group 1 contest where he has entered 3-1 shot Bondi Beach, Fields Of Athenry (8-1) and Order Of St George who is joint-favourite at 9-4 (Ladbrokes) with William Haggas’ Great Voltigeur winner Storm The Stars.

Speaking at a press conference at London’s Landmark Hotel on Monday ahead of the last British Classic race of the season, O’Brien revealed that his runners are in good order ahead of the extended one mile and six furlong contest.

“I am not sure if Joseph [O’Brien] will be riding any of them, as it is possible he will stay at Leopardstown that day,” Aidan O’Brien said. “We have not made a final decision. Seamus [Heffernan] and Colm [O’Donoghue] will be available and, with not many runners in the St Leger, there should be no shortage of jockeys. Seamus has won on both of Bondi Beach and Order Of St George and Colm knows them well too.

“The three horses all have different profiles and it is hard to say which will be best on Saturday. Bondi Beach came out on top by a short-head when he met Order Of St George at the Curragh of fast ground in June but that was Order Of St George’s first run in a long time. On the other hand, Seamie wasn’t hard on Bondi Beach that day, so I don’t think there is much between the two.”

Ladbrokes St Leger: (Ladbrokes prices) 9/4 Order Of St George, 9/4 Storm The Stars, 3 Bondi Beach, 8 Fields Of Athenry, 12 Simple Verse, 25 Vengeur Masque, 33 Medrano, 33 Proposed  (1/4 odds 1,2,3)
