The Grand National field of 40 runners has been confirmed and there is little to separate the market leaders as Teaforthree continues to head the betting.

The 10-year-old was third in last year’s National and leads the way at 8-1 from 12-1 shots Long Run and Monbeg Dude. Double Seven and Tidal Bay are next best at 14-1 and Betfred spokesmen Andrew Griffiths expects prices to tighten at the top of the market.

“Despite Teaforthree leading the way at 8/1, it’s becoming ever more congested at the front of the market,” Griffiths admitted.

“Double Seven inevitably collapsed once AP McCoy was confirmed to ride, whilst Burton Port, Long Run and The Package are also being backed.”
