Lingfield Park will create history by staging the first ever race meeting on a Good Friday in England when they host the £1million All-Weather Championship Finals.

The qualifying races for the lucrative seven race card, that includes six championship races, have been taking place at Britain’s four all-weather tracks since October.

The six finals are comprised of races for fillies and mares, three-year-olds, a marathon, sprint, mile and middle-distance championship. Each race offers total prize-money of £150,000 with the middle distance race worth a whopping £200,000.

Horses gained entry to the finals by winning one of the 16 ‘fast-track’ qualifying races or by running three times at either Lingfield, Kempton, Wolverhampton or Southwell.

Kate Hills, Arena Racing Company’s Director of PR and Communications, is delighted with the number and quality horses competing on Friday.

“We really could not have asked for a better inaugural All-Weather Championships Finals Day with maximum fields in five of the six main races,” Hills said.

“The fast-track qualifiers have provided a strong narrative in the build-up to Good Friday and it is very satisfying to see so many of them lining up.

“We are all set for a fabulous and historic day’s racing; with racing for the first time in England on Good Friday.”
