LINGFIELD Park is to install on-course betting facilities operated by bookmaker William Hill before the end of the month.

The dual-purpose racecourse in Surrey, which has a grass and an all-weather track, host their next meeting on August 21 and the new betting shop is expected to be open for the last meeting of the month on August 30.

Lingfield will be the sixth racecourse owned by Arena Racing Company (ARC) to have installed William Hill betting facilities this summer, joining Royal Windsor, Doncaster, Southwell, Wolverhampton and Worcester.

Doncaster was first, opening in early June. They were followed by the introduction of William Hill betting facilities at Wolverhampton on August 10 and Royal Windsor on August 13.

The services at Southwell are scheduled to open this Sunday, August 20. Worcester’s are expected to commence at the same time as at Lingfield; news that has pleased ARC’s director of operations, Mark Spincer.

“We are really pleased to have been able to work with William Hill to ensure all these betting facilities will be open in the coming weeks,” Spincer, said.

“As a leading betting operator and key sponsor partner of ARC, William Hill’s facilities are well placed to meet all customers’ needs and thrive in the years ahead.”

William Hill divisional director, Steven White, added: “The William Hill facilities at Doncaster are already proving popular so we are excited about extending our presence to the on-course betting facilities at six of ARC’s racecourses.

“On course customers will receive the full William Hill service enabling them to bet on other courses as well as other sports while viewing the best of the day’s televised sporting action.”

The news continues the burgeoning partnership between ARC and William Hill, who earlier this year were revealed as the sponsors of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster (September 13-16) which features the Group 1 £700,000 William Hill St Leger Stakes.
