ARENA Racing Company (ARC) – the owners of four racecourses in the south east – has stepped in to support a fundraising event in London for horse welfare.
ARC has 16 racecourses in the UK that includes Lingfield Park, Fontwell Park, Brighton and Royal Windsor and has stepped in to support the initiative that last year raised £40,000.
The black tie event is in aid of the Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre, a charity established to find permanent homes for racehorses after they have retired from racing.
ARC will be the lead sponsor of the 2017 Moorcroft Masterminds Quiz, a black tie event at the Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, London on Thursday April 20, 2017 where teams from the racing community will pit their wits against each other on topics including music & art, TV & films, sport, politics and current affairs.
Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre’s chief executive, Tim Fox, said: “We are delighted ARC have come on board to sponsor next year’s quiz. It’s always a really fun evening and as our biggest fundraiser of the year is enormously important to the charity. I would like to thank Betfair for their years of support for which we are very grateful.”
ARC chief executive Martin Cruddace, added: “Caring for and rehoming ex-racehorses is very important to the sport and ARC is thrilled to have the opportunity to show its support for the Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre. I hope everyone will book a table at what is always a top evening. Good luck to everyone that takes part but ARC will be going all out to win.”
